According to officials, on Wednesday afternoon, police and a lifeguard from a nearby pool had to dive headfirst into a lake at the park following reports of the child entering the waters.

Officers from the Montgomery County Department of Police were able to get to the child and safely brought him to the shore.

"Excellent job," a spokesperson for the department stated, "and quick thinking by responding officers and many thanks to the lifeguards who ran down to help the officers."

The save comes less than two weeks after 6-year-old Fawzan Hassan was reported missing then pulled from the water in Bohrer Park in Montgomery County.
